In an absolute first for music the song G.L.O.W will be released on Guitar Hero before, not only Rock Band but before anywhere else.  The song will be available to download along with two of the best Smashing Pumpkins songs; The Everlasting Glaze; and 1979 (which was in Grand Theft Auto IV).

As well as this news the lead guitarist/singer Billy Corgan will be an in-game character.  The character will unlock the song “Today” from the album “Siamese Dream”.  This is big news, not only for Guitar Hero, but for fans of the band (like me).  This may even tip the boat for me on which of these franchises I will purchase.  What can Rock Band bring to the table next?  It’s going to have to be pretty big to get me to top this.

PS. I love the Smashing Pumpkins.

very cool. I'm getting both this and RB2, but then again I live in the US where games are cheap. Being a Smashing Pumpkins fan I'm very excited about this, although Billy being an unlockable character seems odd, as they haven't even scratched the surface of so many more notable guitarists (nothing against Corgan of course)

haha wow, even if I get all the schwag in the big box it still only hits my wallet for $190, or 95 pounds sterling... America's for gamers!

Seriously though, I feel for you, my poor little dollar is plummeting in value compared to your mighty quid.
